Invest in a study manual or other study material

Set a goal to cover X # of pages daily before you begin to study

Take notes while studying

Separate material into smaller sections

Make sure you organize your study material using tabs, etc. so that you can easily reference certain sections as needed

Study with a partner or group

Attend webinars & study sessions (if not offered at your facility reach out to another through AAHAM)

Study daily

Changing your place of study every once in a while can be beneficial

Make flash cards and carry them with you. You can look at them while at appointments, check out lines while shopping, at the gym or anywhere where you have a free moment.

Join AAHAM & find a mentor or there may be one within your organization

Pace yourself

Avoid distractions & don’t allow yourself to become easily distracted

Allow downtime for information to process. You need to take short breaks when studying for long periods of time

Plan the length of study period based on the amount of material to cover

Study when you are at your best by finding the best time of the day for you

Get proper rest or refresh with a nap

Have a positive attitude by being excited about the opportunity
